World-class technology, fine-tuned to you

The needs of each patient dictate the way we employ our technology. No two eyes are exactly the same, so our first task is to make sure we understand the finest details of your eyes. A crucial part of this process is using the best technology available to us.

Some clinics still work with relatively basic measurements, such as your lens prescription and wavefront measurements. We just don’t believe this is a good enough basis from which to provide you with world-class laser eye surgery. Instead, based on years of pioneering ophthalmic research and our uniquely comprehensive testing process, we create individual treatment plans tailored precisely to each of your eyes.

Our surgeons don’t just train with specialist technology – they help design it.

London Vision Clinic are the proud owners of one of the world’s only Artemis Insight 100™ scanners. The Artemis Insight 100™ – which developed as a result of ophthalmic research by Professor Reinstein and a select team of LASIK experts – is the most accurate corneal scanner in the world, and greatly enhances patient safety and refractive outcomes.

The Artemis Insight 100™ is known for its hugely superior imaging and micro-biometric capabilities; it enables us to confidently operate on patients who would have otherwise been rejected as suspect Keratoconus.

In the UK, the Artemis Insight 100 is only available at the London Vision Clinic.

Find out more about London Vision Clinic’s unique partnership with Carl Zeiss Meditec, – a world-leading laser manufacturer.

Carl Zeiss Meditec MEL 90 Excimer laser

The Zeiss MEL 90 excimer laser offers incredibly accurate, auto-stabilised calibrated laser energy delivery. Zeiss was the first laser manufacturer to produce closed-loop energy stabilisation – the patented method of energy stabilisation used by the MEL 90.

This gives it the fastest response time of any laser, without the need for frequent user calibration.

Carl Zeiss Meditec WASCA High-resolution Wavefront Aberrometer

The Zeiss WASCA High-resolution Wavefront Aberrometer provides the highest resolution wavefront data available, with ten times as many measurement points as the world’s most commonly used wavefront system. By measuring a number of points on your cornea, wavefront builds a detailed picture of your eye’s surface. This helps us plan a custom-programmed treatment for each eye. At London Vision Clinic, we use the wavefront data to design an even more effective treatment.

Artemis Insight 100™ Ultrasound Scanner

The Artemis Insight 100™ provides the most accurate corneal measurements in the world. Accurate to 1 micron (1/1000mm), it was the result of ophthalmic research by Prof Reinstein and a select team of laser eye surgery experts from across the globe.

It remains the only system in the world that can fully map continuous surfaces inside the cornea.

Carl Zeiss Meditec VisuMax Femtosecond laser

The VisuMax allows us to create the extremely accurate corneal flaps. It has excellent focusing and precision, allows for a short treatment time, and maximises comfort for the patient.

Procyon Pupillometer

The Procyon Pupillometer measures the size of your pupils in a range of lighting conditions. The data this provides helps to ensure that the treatment we carry out best fits you day and night.

Topography

Topography produces a shape ‘map’ of the front and back surfaces of your cornea, showing its varying curvatures. We use the Carl Zeiss Atlas, the Pentacam and the Bausch & Lomb Orbscan II – all three possess particular strengths providing certain aspects of corneal measurement, that comprise the most advanced instruments of their kind.

London Vision Clinic: independently rated as Excellent.

I researched laser eye surgery thoroughly prior to deciding to have it done, and after speaking to Prof. Reinstein (on Twitter!) had no doubt that this is the only place in the country that should be trusted with my eyes. I felt I should either pay for the… or stick to glasses/contact lenses. One month on I am delighted with the results. Perfect vision and absolutely no side effects beyond the first fortnight.”
