It has been a year since I underwent SMILE laser eye surgery at London Vision Clinic to correct my near-sightedness with astigmatism. Here is an overview of my experience:- From initial contact to surgery and post-op appointments, the process was smooth and well-organized, with excellent communication throughout. The clinic is clean, modern, and equipped with advanced technology.- I am deeply grateful to Prof. Dan Reinstein, who was exceptionally caring and attentive during both consultations and surgery, making the experience as comfortable as possible.Post-Surgery Journey:- In the first few months, my right eye had almost perfect vision, but my left eye struggled with clarity, particularly for computer work. This disparity was frustrating, and I was told it might take time for my brain to adjust.- By the 9–10 month mark, the difference between my eyes improved, but I still experienced persistent issues with my left eye, including reduced clarity and eye fatigue after prolonged screen time.- At 11 months, a visit to my regular ophthalmologist revealed that both eyes were overcorrected, with some residual astigmatism. My post-op prescription was R -2.25 -0.75 / L -3.0 -0.5, but my current prescription is R +0.25 -0.75 / L +0.75 -0.5. It seems the astigmatism was not corrected, and I may need reading glasses in the near future due to the overcorrection.Overall Impression:While my quality of life has improved—I no longer rely on glasses or contact lenses—I had expected near-perfect results, given the clinic's reputation and the premium cost of over £5k. Unfortunately, the lingering vision issues fell short of those expectations.

Thoroughly recommended. All the staff are fantastic - very welcoming and attentive in reception, calmly knowledgeable and reassuring in the diagnosis phase, and very professional in the operation itself. I felt in good hands throughout. And importantly, I am very pleased with the results - still in the post operative phase so likely not quite there yet, but I no longer need any glasses at all.

I cannot recommend London vision clinic enough!IMy experience with the London vision clinic has been the best treatment I could have imagined!I was treated with such kindness and respect from the start ,with any fears being addressed one to one by my patient co-ordination. I was able to call her ,or email her with any fears or concerns throughout the whole process and felt completely supported.The setting The London vision clinic sits in is a beautiful,clean and comfortable large clinic in Harley street and as soon as I walked in I felt at ease and in good hands.Prior to choosing London vision clinic,I did a lot of research on different places and now I can see why the London vision clinic was rated the best of the best-because they are!I was taken through the whole process feeling one hundred percent safe and confident and had extensive testing done by the surgery before they would even agree to do my procedure.They told me things about my eyes that my own optitons had never even told me!The whole process was smooth and planned out to fit my schedule.Instructions were very clear and I was never once pressured into making decisions,being reminded If needed I could withdraw from the surgery at any point.Thankfully I went through with it!The surgery itself was the quickest and easiest procedure I’ve ever had.My surgeon Dr Patel made me feel comfortable upon our first meeting and on the day he made my experience calm and even enjoyable!He personally checked in with me over text ,that evening and having that one on one contact and patient care with him was incredible!Regarding my eyesight I could see better straight away!However the next day I was completely able to walk around London and had a appointment with dr Patel who was very happy with my healing.However,I felt that if things had not gone completely to plan I would have been in incredible hands and so I was not at all worried!After six weeks I went for a examination and appointment that signified my eyes had completely healed and I was told unless I wanted to request to see a Dr myself ,I would not have to for another year!I now have perfect vision!It’s now coming up to 5 months and apart from initial dryness that only lasted 3 weeks ,and was treated with drops ,my eyesight has (touch wood )been perfect!I had no negative side effects whatsoever and couldn’t have had a smoother experience!However,I am in no doubt that if I had any issues ,the London VIsion clinic would be there to assist me with top care!Eyes are such a vital thing in our lives and I am so thankful I chose to have Smile surgery with London vision clinic!Since,I now have friends that have booked in for eye procedures ,purely from the endless praise I have given the clinic!Thank you so much ,especially to Olivia and Dr Darshak Patel who have forever changed my life for the better!Belinda Cieslak stokes

I booked a consultation at LVC after hearing about them from a friend, who was very happy with his experience. After an initial phone call with Kate, I was considered a suitable candidate for Presbyond surgery. My initial consultation was with Sharon who was professional, approachable and explained all of the options. My next appointment was with Darshak, who explained the benefits and risks of different options and made sure I was happy with my choice. Surgery with Darshak followed a week later and the whole team made me feel relaxed, comfortable and explained what to expect. I’ve since had a couple of follow ups with Sharon and all is on track. I really like that I’ve been provided with Darshak’s number and am free to contact him with any queries and concerns during the 12 months after surgery. The whole experience has been professional, welcoming and the entire team put me at my ease from the very first phone call.

I came into this with real trepidation especially with a starting prescription +8.0, the care and results I have experienced are beyond my expectations. Mr Patel and all clinic staff are kind and professional, go and find out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you all !!!

Phenomenal experience. I have needed glasses since I was 11 and now I have 20/20 vision. I wish I had done this years ago. The most easy, calm procedure, I felt completely at ease and had completely faith in the team at LoVC. I recommend this to everyone!

16 years following my original surgery I am delighted with my blended vision enhancement treatment. It is brilliant to be able to read up close again. Being back on the young person default iPhone screen settings is definitely good for the middle aged image! Well done Prof Dan and his superb team.
