Alternative treatment options
The best Laser Eye surgery clinics can treat around 97% of patients with a wide range of refractive errors and prescriptions. However, a small number of patients may not be eligible for corneal laser refractive surgery. This may be due to their prescription, the shape and/or health of their eyes, or the thickness of their corneas.
If you told you are not suitable for Laser Eye Surgery, there may be other options open to you. In addition to the continued use of glasses and/or contact lenses, other options may include:
- Phakic Intraocular Lens Implantation - (time to read 1 minute)
- The Iris-Claw Lens: The ‘Artisan’ - (time to read 1 minute)
- The Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) - (time to read 2 minutes)
- Clear Lens Exchange - (time to read 2 minutes)
